10 & 2 Research Clinics in April!



Once again, Blackwell Library is pleased to announce our month long 10 & 2 Research Clinics.  These hour long workshops are designed to focus on specific research skills or tools and are offered at the time of the semester that students are working on their final papers and projects.  There are workshops offered every Monday through Thursday at 10 am and 2 pm.

The semester is winding down and students are starting to think about those end-of-the-semester research projects.  Maybe you need some help with citation?  Perhaps you want an in-depth session on advanced search techniques?  Blackwell Librarians are ready to help with our 10 & 2 Research Clinics featured all month long at 10 am and 2 pm Mondays through Thursdays.

Business Resources - One of our 10&2 Research Clinics!

Want to find company histories, income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements?  Market share, anyone?  Want a company SWOT analysis?  How about surveying a particular industry?  Come join me for a session covering how to choose and search our business databases. This workshop will also focus on the Business Subject Guide as well as the following databases: Gale’s Business & Company Resources, Business Source Premier (linked with other appropriate EBSCO databases), ABI Inform and more.

This clinic will be offered 11/23 and 12/1 from 2-3PM with librarian Gaylord Robb.

One of the topics available is Advanced Science Database Searching:

Science Direct, Web of Science, BioOne, and BioMed Central – some of the heavy hitters in the science database world!  While all a bit different from each other in focus and scope, they have a number of similarities that makes becoming a searching expert in them a breeze!  After this one hour clinic you’ll be able to use limiters, save citations, set up search alerts, and use all of the other powerful tools that these databases offer up to those in the know.

10 & 2 Research Clinics


Feeling stressed about research assignments?  Struggling with formatting citations correctly?  Always wanted to know how to use advanced search techniques?

Come to one of our hour long Research Clinics where we'll focus in on one topic to get you the specific help you need.  They'll be held throughout November, Mondays through Thursdays at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.   We are offering a variety of sessions on topics ranging from MLA or APA citation to Zotero and End Note citation management software and advanced searching of science, business,    and music databases.
