Two New Database Trials!

GREENR (Global Reference on the Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources)

An online resource for the study of sustainability and the environment, GREENR provides quick and easy access to primary source documents, journal articles, videos, news reports and much more.  Coverage is global with interactive maps along with subject browsing and searching. A complete environmental library at your fingertips.


Literature Criticism Online

With the full text of 10 familiar Gale Research series, this database provides articles from journals and other sources about all types of literature. The full content from hundreds of printed volumes is given in easy-to-search format that links all the essays and articles about a  particular author or literary work. No more searching through multiple volumes!

Government Document of the Month: October



An important part of Government Documents are the bound volumes of the Public Papers of the Presidents of the United States.  The volumes are received free from the Government Printing Office because Blackwell Library is a Federal Depository Library.  On display this month are the first volumes in the collection from the last three presidents and book one of the first volume from the papers of President Obama.  All of the volumes from Woodrow Wilson and Herbert Hoover through Obama in the collection can be checked out. The volumes can be found in the stacks upstairs under the call number:  J82.E9.  The display is located on the first floor of the library in the Government Document section.

World Bank eLibrary Trial


Blackwell Library has a trial to World Bank eLibrary until September 30.
What is the World Bank eLibrary?
The World Bank eLibrary is the World Bank’s subscription-based collection of nearly 6,000 books, reports, journals, and working papers including:
·         Development Outreach, World Bank Economic Review and World Bank Research Observer journal articles published since 1996
·         Development Economics (DEC) policy research working papers published since 1995
·         e-books and reports dating as far as the 1970’s
World Bank eLibrary contains only the final, peer-reviewed versions of the Bank’s formal publications.
It is designed to meet the needs of the library, academic and research community.

Ask at the Research Help desk for the username and password for the trial.

September Government Document of the Month



How much do you know about YOUR Constitution?  Do you know what the first 10 amendments are to the United States Constitution which are called the Bill of Rights?  The September Government Document of the Month display features the Constitution in conjunction with Constitution Day celebrated on September 17th.   Stop by to read some interesting facts about the Constitution.  The display is located on the first floor of the library in the Government Document section.
